  • The lungs, jaw, nose, and palate have begun to grow.
  • The hand and feet buds have webbed-like structures.
  • The brain continues to form.
  • You may begin experiencing heartburn and indigestion.
  • You will notice changes in your breasts, such as tenderness and swelling.
  • Some pregnant women might experience light bleeding. 

        Tip to help you through the week:

  • Eat your meals slowly and avoid wearing outfits that squeeze your belly.

  • The hair and nipple follicles are forming.
  • The eyelids and tongue have begun developing.
  • The elbows and toes become more visible.
  • By week 7, you should gain a couple of kilograms. You may also have lost weight if you are dealing with morning sickness.

       Tip to help you through the week:

  • Eat small meals frequently to overcome morning sickness.

  • Your baby’s facial features continue to mature.
  • The tip of the nose is present.
  • Baby’s body starts to straighten out.
  • Your uterus is now about the size of a grapefruit.
  • The first prenatal visit occurs between 8 and 12 weeks from your last menstrual period.

  • Baby rapidly gains weight and looks more like a little person.
  • The eyelids are fully formed.
  • All joints are working and allowing the baby to move within the amniotic sac.
  • Your baby’s heart begins to beat.
  • If you are having difficulty sleeping, you might consider changing your sleeping positions.

  • The fetal period starts. 
  • Baby’s vital organs are functioning.
  • Baby actively swallows the amniotic fluid and kicks his/her legs.
 
  • An ultrasound will allow you to see your baby for the first time!

  • Walking and swimming can help you stay in shape.
